Winemaker's Notes

Altamura Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from our hillside and valley floor estate vineyards in Wooden Valley, located in the southeastern hillsides of the Napa Valley. Altamura's estate vineyards bring these characteristics together in a hallmark style of rich, multi-layered Cabernet Sauvignon.

Critical Acclaim

"Offers a racy aroma, but tames quickly, with a dill-tinged edge to the tiers of dark berry, mocha, raspberry and subtle earth, gaining depth and maintaining persistence on the finish. Best from 2014 through 2027"
94 Points

"The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) displays a firm, dry, Bordeaux-like structure, deep, concentrated, plum, anise and black currant flavors. The abundant fruit is accompanied by lots of structure in this earthy, full-bodied, well-built, muscular Cabernet. Forget it for several years and drink it over the following two decades."

Learn About Altamura Map ItMap It

Established in 1985 by Frank and Karen Altamura, Altamura Vineyards and Winery is the sole winery situated in the historical farming region of Wooden Valley, located within the eastern foothills of famed Napa Valley. Altamura is the first to capture the unique characteristics of Wooden Valley in a bottling. Napa native Frank and Karen have a decidedly hands-on approach to every step of the growing and winemaking process. Thus, a natural production limit is established and the wines reflect the Altamuras' deep commitment to reflecting the terroir of their Wooden Valley Ranch.

The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...
