Winemaker's Notes

A full bodied, intense and elegant red made from 100% Corvina Veronese grown in the eponymous vineyard. This is the first example in Valpolicella of Corvina Veronese vinified as a single varietal. The inspiration behind this lies with Giovanni Allegrini and stemmed from his passionate belief in the land on which he lived.

This makes an ideal accompaniment to roast meat and game. It is excellent with mellow, aged cheeses and a perfect match with dishes made with white or black truffles.

I've had the pleasure of tasting this wine several times, including once in the Allegrini Winery in Verona. This intense wine is very complex & has got layers of dark cherry, minerality, chocolate and tobacco. Beautiful long finish for this amazing wine.
