Despite a hot summer, the later spring allowed for adequate hang time and an appropriately long growing season. The Pinot noir harvest began just after Labor Day and the last vineyard was brought in at the close of September.
The wine shows cherry, cedar and graham in the nose. By mouth, one encounters more cherry and cranberry flavors, as well as hints of leather and forest floor to support the fruit. The bright acidity carries the flavors of this soft supple wine. The finish is elegant with hints of cocoa powder on the tongue from aging in 100% French oak barrels for 9 months.
