Alberto Giachino and his wines are the culmination of a long family history of winemaking dating back to 1913. At that time his father, Marcello founded the vineyard, located in the town of Roddi in northwest Italy.
About elven kilometers from Alba, the property is nestled in the sunny valleys of the Piemonte region famous for it's dry, fertile soil and sunny climate, perfect for the production of grapes.
Of the 13.15 hectares of land which comprise the "azienda" , 9.15 are dedicated to growing of grapes, while on the remainder are grown nocciolo (hazelnuts), or grain, or left to fallow for the next season.
In 1996 Alberto, his brother Bruno and son Piero (who is a enotechnico) took over the production and distribution of the wines. Their production follows the strictest guidelines using no artificial fertilizers or pesticides. With the greatest of care the wines are crafted in the age old tradition of the region, bbringing Dolcetto D'Alba, Barbera D'Alba, Nebbiolo, D'Alba, and Barolo wines of exceptional quality.
