Winemaker's Notes

Lagone has a warm deep red colour close to purple. Delicate aromas of Mediterranean wood and vanilla emphasize the structured and elegant taste with intense notes of wild berries, ripe juicy sour cherries and hints of sweet spices that leave the palate satisfied and pleasantly sweet and dry. Tibor Gál has been able to create a blend marked by the Italian "terroir" together with the "finesse" of a great French red wine. The wine is well structured with a strong and mellow texture. In short, a modern red wine of the best quality.

Critical Acclaim

"Medium-deep red. Lovely violet lift to the aromas of strawberry, sweet brown spices and tobacco; comes across as much fresher than the 2010. Suave, smooth and aromatic in the mouth, with flavors of redcurrant, plum and licorice joined by a hint of cinnamon on the back. The broad, dusty tannins are sweeter than those of the 2010, giving the wine's fruit a chance to linger."

Suspect something wrong here. Wine smelled and tasted like a bad port. Suspect it was cooked.
