winemaker's notes:

The 2006 A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir is blended from wines made from at least sixteen different vineyards representing all of the Oregon AVAs that grow Pinot Noir. A to Z takes great care over many months in crafting one cuvee each vintage, a complex blend that embodies the essence of Oregon Pinot Noir.

Clear and vibrant, the initial aromas of this wine are of raspberries, blueberries, baking spices and Bing cherries but evolve to the more complex aromas of clean earth, minerals, smoke, red currants and flint. The mouth fulfills the expectations promised by the aromatics and has a rich texture, good acidity and a strong structure. The 2006 A to Z Pinot Noir shows great poise, concentrated depth and purity within a lacy framework. Rich, classically proportioned and built for mid-term aging.

Mike Hines - Sammamish, WA (read all my reviews)
rating (9/25/2010):

This low cost Pinot has an acceptable appearance, not loking too deep, but not excessivly filtered (2 of 2). Its bouquet is just slightly earthy promising only average potential (2 of 4). Being pretty well balanced makes up for an unexciting one-dimensional body and salvages an above average rating (6 of 10). Overall, don't wast any ink writing home about this one, but it's not bad for under $20 (1 of 4). TOTAL 11 of 20
rating (9/29/2010):
My notes (collective summary of 6 wine tasters' notes at a dinner party. Food paring: cheese and cold cuts appetizer, pig-in-a-blanket, primavera pasta, clam Rockefeller, Korean style BBQ bone-in beef, and Thai style fried rice): Color: Nice red color Bouquet: Good bouquet of berries, soil, and spices but has an undertone of stifled air that detracts from it. Taste: Again, the berries, spices, and earth are there but something is stifling the taste. It is almost as if they bottled a bit of the damp foggy air.
Frank Madden - Saint James, NY (read all my reviews)
rating (9/29/2010):
It was a little sweet for me, although I only just had it with some cheeses. My preferences are for a much dryer red wine. It appears very fruity absorbing the complexity of the ground of where it grows.
