Our experts have gathered three top-rated Aussie wines - all at an exceptional price! Winery suggested retail on all three is $99, but pay only $54.99. All three wines are very different in style; each delicious, unique and with great ratings from the critics. Quantities limited to stock on hand.
Each collection contains one each of:
Torzi Matthews 2004 Frost Dodger Shiraz
$45 Sugg. Retail
94 JH, 92 WS
What an exciting bottle of wine! Made from cool climate Shiraz, this is made in the appassimento style used in Italy to make Amarone (the grapes are dried to concentrate the flavors before crushing). Of course the winemaker's family was originally from Italy.
Burge Family 2004 Clochemerle GSM
$33 Sugg. Retail
93 RP
This is an excellent Rhone-style blend - like Robert Parker states, "an Australian version of Chateauneuf du Pape" that is "extraordinarily elegant, fruity, full-bodied". Drinking just beautifully right now.
Kay Brothers 2004 Amery Shiraz
$22 Sugg. Retail
92 ST, 90 RP
In the Kay Brothers style, this is dense, rich, inky Shiraz from McLaren Vale. Perhaps fits the mold of what most wine lovers first think of about Australian Shiraz.
User Reviews
The top 3 most liked reviews for this product.
Don't be put off by my 4 stars, I'm not sure there is a perfect wine out there, but if I could have given the trio 4 1/2, I would have. The reviews, with which I don't always agree, really "hit the nail on the head" with this set.
