Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

With fragrances of cassis, dark plum, wild plum and a slight dried herb aroma. The flavor profile is soft at first that lead to plum, cassis fruit flavors that carry through mid to late-palate that finish with berry notes and a soft tannin finish.

Pretty poor bottle of wine, but then, again, it did not cost very much. Guess I will use the other five bottles as cooking wine.

Learn About 786 Wines

786 is rich in history and folklore. A grand Queen Anne Victorian style home located just a short walking distance from the historic Sonoma Plaza in Sonoma, CA. The Bancroft family began construction of the site in 1896 and by 1906 called it their home. One of the many prestigious visitors to this estate was General Vallejo, he gave the gift of a Pepper tree to the Bancroft family (a symbol of good luck); this tree still stands as a stately figure on the grounds today.

Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
