Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

In this wine, quintessential Marlborough Sauvignon character leaps from the glass. Lifted, complex aromas of fresh asparagus stem, lime citrus and sunshine-warmed grass clippings are contrasted by the less dominant, yet exotic notes of tree-ripened grapefruit. In the mouth, the palate is instantly rich and mouth-filling before the juicy acidity tightens the palate, refreshes the mouth and provides the vehicle for a long, fine, flavor-packed finish.

Try with twice baked goat cheese souffle.
