Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2012 Urban Uco Malbec spent three months in oak barrels. The bouquet is well-defined with blackberry, boysenberry, touches of dark chocolate and anise. The palate offers chunky black fruit on the entry. It is fresh, a little rough round the edges, but true to what an unadulterated Malbec should be.

In 2007, after a three-year search for the best vineyards and terroirs in Chile, the O. Fournier Group commenced its winemaking practices. In Chile, O. Fournier has selected the most exciting areas to develop vineyards and produce wines. The group has acquired properties in Lo Abarca (San Antonio Valley) and Loncomilla (Maule Valley).
Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
