Winemaker Notes
A classic Cabernet aroma profile with currant, plum, and black cherry. This is complemented by an enticing floral, violet aroma, rich herbal characters of bay, clove and anise, and cedar box. On the palate, rich flavors of dark stone fruit and candied berry are accompanied by firm round tannins, toasty vanilla, caramel, and a silky soft finish.
Pairs perfectly with bacon wrapped fillet, braised lamb shank, and other grilled meats. A good wine for spicy marinara meatballs and pasta, Cajun sausage gumbo, or red chili steak fajitas with spicy black beans.

A fine Cabernet, one of the best from Sonoma Valley. It’s dry and firm in tannins, with complex black cherry, licorice, mocha and cedar flavors. A little softer and broader than a comparably-priced Napa Cab, it’s no less ageworthy. Drink now–2020.

Wine & Spirits
A great rib eye wine, this balances its sweet, plump blueberry tones with an impressive tannin density that seems to absorb the wine’s heady alcohol, making it feel serious rather than just massive. It holds together with air and can stand some time in the cellar.

Wine
While Sonoma County is acclaimed—and rightfully so—for its Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Zinfandels, it also produces exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Of the region’s 18 American Viticultural Areas, only a handful produce top-notch Cabernet Sauvignon. These appellations include Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Sonoma Valley and Dry Creek Valley. Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignons made in these appellations can offer a complex array of aromas and flavors. Fruit notes such as blackberry, blackcurrant, cassis, black cherry and raspberry often are accompanied by hints of graphite, dusty earth, cigar box, toast and vanilla. The varietal has a rich history in Sonoma, and some of these Cabernet Sauvignons and Cabernet-based blends rival the best from Napa Valley.
