Somm Note

Winemaker Notes

A savory dusty aroma of liquorice and cocoa powder with ripe prune/plummy fruit aromas reflecting the very warm vintage. A lush, plump, soft and supple wine that seeps across the palate, with fleshy fruit notes of prunes and stewed cherries, and a dash of spice finishing with structured silky fine tannins and a soft warm finish.

Professional Ratings

Bright, deft and jazzy, as red and black berry flavors play against refined tannins and lively acidity. Drink now. 1,000 cases imported.

Plantagenet Winery Image
The first vines were planted in 1968 at "Bouverie" Denbarker. These consisted of 4 1/2 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Plantagenet Wines now has boosted the total acreage to 100, including Malbec, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Plantagenet aims to make elegant, structured wines that have complexity, finesse and balance.
