Winemaker Notes
Crisp and dry, with apple and mineral flavors complemented by hints of almonds and honey. Vernaccia is ideally paired to fish dishes, even elaborate ones and because of its full body it pairs very well with meat and salamis. A wine to be drunk when young and served at 12°-14°C.
The ancient enological tradition of Vernaccia di San Gimignano was the first wine to be recognized by the DOC appellation in 1996, followed by the guaranteed appellation (DOCG) in 1993. The area of production is in the municipality of San Gimignano. The terrain which is mainly sandy of pliocenic origin retains a good water reserve even in the summer months. The gradient of the hills and the favorable exposition make the area particularly suitable for the production of prized white wines.

In the 1970s, Cecchi moved to the borough of Castellina in Chianti, an area which has traditionally produced Chianti Classico. In its cellar, equipped with the latest technology, the final part of the production cycle is carried out. The fermentation operations are carried out at the four commercial vineyards distributed in famous DOC zones in Tuscany and Umbria: Villa Cerna in the Chianti Classico region, Castello di Montauto at San Gimignano, Val delle Rose near Grosseto, and Tenuta Alzatura at Montefalco, in Umbria. Since 2004, following the death of Luigi, his sons Cesare and Andrea, along with their mother Anita, have run the company with enthusiasm and passion.
