Wine.com Announces Voluntary Recall of Six Gift Baskets Containing PeanutsSAN FRANCISCO, CA - 2/23/2009 Wine.com announced today a voluntary recall of six (6) gift baskets as a precautionary step. These gift baskets contain peanuts supplied by Torn Ranch of Novato, CA which may contain peanuts from Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). PCA has announced the expansion of a voluntary recall covering all peanut products made in their Blakely, Georgia plant since Jan. 1, 2007, because they have potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, a serious and sometimes fatal bacterial infection. The Wine.com products affected by this recall are: Item No: 75653 Product Name: Sonoma's Bountiful Vineyard Peanut Products: Torn Ranch Deluxe Mixed Nuts, a 5oz tin with gold lid and purple label Item No: 83369 Product Name: Executive Selection Peanut Products: Torn Ranch Deluxe Mixed Nuts, a 5oz tin with gold lid and purple label Item No: 75675 Product Name: Elegant Extravaganza Peanut Products: Torn Ranch Honey Roasted Peanuts, a 5 oz tin with gold lid and brown label Item No: 75681 Product Name: Simply Indulgent Peanut Products: Torn Ranch Honey Roasted Peanuts, a 5 oz tin with gold lid and brown label Item No: 78052 Product Name: California Collection Peanut Products: Torn Ranch Honey Roasted Peanuts, a 5 oz tin with gold lid and brown label Item No: 80902 Product Name: BV Century Cellars Duet Peanut Products: Torn Ranch Honey Roasted Peanuts, a 5 oz tin with gold lid and brown label Torn Ranch has indicated that they are not aware of any reported cases of illness related to these products. Wine.com has not received any reports of illness connected to the products listed above. The company is undertaking this voluntary recall to proceed with utmost caution. Wine.com apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and is committed to quality products and the safety of their customers.
