This is the first South African wine I've bought. Overall, I thought this wine was good to very good. It is approachable right after openning. There is forward fruit with plum and cherry/berry flavors. Leather and tobacco with the oak and tannins provide good balance. I thougt it was easy to drink. The wine stood up well to grilled, chile-rubbed flank steak with a tangy salsa verde and rich bacon, scallion smashed potatoes, but it did not stand out. On sale for $11.99 this was a bargin.
