Torre di Ceparano has depth and real breeding. The flavours can be characterized as raspberry, violets, tobacco and vanilla. The palate reveals strong tannins reinforced by the ageing in casks of mainly French and some American oak.
Made from specially selected, separately vinified clones, this wine is enhanced by the cooler northeast exposure of this particular vineyard. It is then aged for 1 year in 1 to 3 year-old French oak barrels.
"The estate’s 2004 Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Torre di Ceparano is a drop-dead gorgeous wine of notable pedigree. Still incredibly primary, it reveals plenty of dark fruit layered with notes of toasted oak, mint, smoke and tar in a remarkably complete, harmonious style. Simply put, this is a gem from proprietor Cristina Giminiani and is not to be missed."
