Zenato Valpolicella Superiore Ripassa 2003
Red Wine
from Veneto, Italy
winemaker's notes:
Rich, suave, juicy and delicious! A baby Amarone at a fraction of the cost. The wine is passed through the the pomace of the amarone which lends depth, concentration and complexity. Ripassa is deep ruby red in color with a complex nose showing some dried fruit. Excellent body and texture on the palate with a lingering finish.

One of the most wonderful wines I've ever had.

IT TOOK 3 SECONDS ON THE PALATE AFTER FIRST SIP TO GET A CHILL UP MY SPINE. UNEXPECTEDLY WONDERFUL, ESPECIALLY FOR AN '03 IN '05. IF THIS WINE CAN AGE WELL IT WILL BE A $50 TO $100 BOTTLE OF WINE- AT LEAST- IN 3 TO 5 YEARS. IF I COULD AFFORD IT I WOULD BUY 10 CASES OF THIS "BABY AMARONE" AND GIVE IT THER SAME CARE I GIVE MY OWN CHILDREN WHILE LOVING IT'S EMBRACE ONCE A MONTH FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS. COLOR-NOSE-TEXTURE, A PALATE PARTY WITH A FINISH THAT WILL CARRY YOU IN ITS' EMBRACE 'TIL SUNRISE. WONDERFUL!
