Number 71 on the Wine.com 100 of 2007!
"Our vineyard is in the coolest part of McLaren Vale, giving our low yields time to slowly accumulate concentrated powerful flavors of blackberry and plums, with hints of spice. The open fermenters and wild yeast allow maximum extraction and complexity with soft silky tannins."
-Peter Fraser, Winemaker
this wine is absolutely delicious, bought a case and might have to buy another.......highly reccomended.
I've bought this wine several times, both the 2004 and 2005. Really delicious: great color, beautiful bouquet, spicy beginning with a rich, lingering finish that forces you into the next sip and the next until, alas, the bottle is gone!
I've ordered this wine several times and you won't be disappointed for a modest $16. It has the ability to compliment any carnivorous meal or is fantastic solo. Tannins are light but for the most part it's bright and balanced. Decent finish. Try it.
This is one of the best full- bodied wines I have tasted in a long time. Rich and velvety without the heavy tannin dryness. Excellent for your most discerning guests.
Dark red, rich wine, not simple, round mouthfeel, definitely to pair with meals with fat. Great value at the $20 price point. Should cellar nicely.
We Enjoyed this wine over a traditional Thanksgiving main course and sides. It had a great nose and a nice finish. I remember a subtle Cedar flavor after the mid note hit. I was hoping it would be a more impactful wine for its rating but it was not disappointing. I would buy it again to try with grilled lamb. I think it would pair better.
