A bright yellow straw in color, the Yalumba Y Series Viognier 2010 exhibits an alluring mix of honeysuckle, candied ginger and glace´ pineapple aromas, which are typical of this exotic variety. In the mouth the palate has flavours of fresh pineapple and dried figs. It is finely balanced with silky texture from wild fermentation and lees aging. A wine of poise, which is delicious with zucchini flowers stuffed with a goat's cheese, pine nut and baby spinach mousse. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
"Fresh and juicy, delivering an exuberant mouthful of lemon peel–accented pear, almond and apricot flavors that linger beautifully. Drink now through 2013."
"Even toward the lower end of the range, Yalumba's Viogniners retain the variety's hallmark overt floral and spice aromastics. This is less concentrated and intense than some of the winery's other bottlings, but it's still a fresh, nicely balanced wine that's a good introduction to Viognier. Drink now.Best Buy"
"Pale, greenish yellow. Green apple and lemon zest aromas are complemented by notes of jasmine and green tea. Tight and racy for this variety, offering fresh orchard fruit and citrus flavors and a late note of bitter peach pit. Finishes dry, with good nervy cut and lingering citrus and spice notes.
