Winemaker's Notes

This vintage will be remembered as a text book vintage for white wines in South Australia. Well balanced crops were set in late Spring and the weather remained mild and dry over the long even ripening period resulting in very healthy vines that produced grapes of excellent quality.

This Unwooded Chardonnay is lively pale yellow with a rich an intense aroma of tropical fruit, melon, grapefruit and a touch of honey. The palate has a vibrant texture and fruit flavours of peach, pineapple and fig and finishes with a refreshing citrus acidity.

"Unwooded Chardonnays can be thin, but this one is riper and rounder than most, and you can't beat the price. It's distinctly peppery, with a spicy layer over pear and tropical fruit flavors."
