Yalumba Hand Picked Tempranillo (89%) Grenache (6%) Viognier (5%) 2005 is a lively purple red in color. The nose offers aromas of rose petals and raspberries which lead into a palate of gravelly tannins and long black cherry flavors. These flavors are made silky by the co-fermentation with Viognier while the Grenache has contributed spiciness.
This wine is drinking superbly now but with careful cellaring, will also develop some classic aged savory flavors over the next five years.
"Polished and generous with its pure cherry and blackberry fruit, this persists nicely on the round, well-buffed finish. Drink now through 2010. 100 cases imported."

Wine Spectator
"An aromatic, lifted red fruit bouquet; light-to-medium-bodied, the fresh fruit in a sour cherry spectrum; fine tannins. The varieties are co-fermented. Cellar to 2015."
Australian Wine Companion
"Dark red. Spicy cherry and licorice on the nose, with a deeper chocolate quality building with air. Sweet raspberry and cherry preserve flavors offer spicy depth. Finishes with dusty, harmonious tannins and a persistent flavor of juicy red berries."
