winemaker's notes:

The color of this wine is pale gold with green tints. The nose displays lifted citrus zest and fresh quince with subtle notes of white nougat and toasted almonds. Finely structured and seamless, the palate is all about texture. Creamy nougat, citrus and hints of white nectarine combine elegantly with the subtle nuances of French oak and a restrained citrus acidity for a lingering finish.

alcohol by volume: 13.5%
critical acclaim:

"Restrained white peach and nectarine bouquet; light and airy on the palate, with weight building toward the conclusion; pure, fine and focused. "

Australian Wine Companion

"Remarkably subtle for a moderately priced chardonnay, this wine's lovely texture carries nectarine and smoky lees flavors. It's luscious and ripe, ready to enjoy on its own or with grilled fish and mango salsa."

Excellent value! This is a relatively low-oaked crispy Chardonnay that actually works with food. If you like to taste the grape and not the barrel, this is the Chard for you.

This is a very drinkable and tasty Chardonnay. There is not a lot of oak, it is a great summer wine.

Was a bit yeasty but knowing that Yalumba leaves the natural yeast on the grape skins when pressing wasn't surprised or offended by it at all. I actually admire the gutsiness of the winemaker. It does have a nice lemony aroma and just a hint of oakiness on the palate. I wasn't disappointed or overly thrilled with it either. For the price you can't go wrong giving it a try.

I found this wine distasteful. I thought it was way to yeasty. no redeeming feature

Decent quality with respect to the money you are paying. Yalumba is the oldest family owned wine business in Australia. They have the best under $20 wines I have had. Seek it out.

I looked forward to this wine after reading the reviews, but I was disappointed. I found it very acidic and harsh. I will stick with my beloved Hess and Chateau St. Michelle chards.
