Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache 2004
Grenache
from Barossa Valley, Australia
winemaker's notes:
Yalumba has, for more than 150 years, been a vital part of the Barossa, making wines that reflect the best of the region. This wine is no exception. Made from 70-year-old Grenache bush vines, this is Barossa at its best.
"Good deep red. Peppery red fruits on the nose; very grenache but considerably fresher than the Tricentenary Vines bottling. Sappy, dense and fresh, with pure flavors of red berries and spices, complicated by earth, smoke and gamey nuances. Fat, sweet and smoky on the back end. Great value."
-International Wine Cellar
Soft and full flavoured, it shows an intense nose of raspberry, licorice and gamey characters, with a hint of earthiness. The rich, sexy palate is full of berries and spice, perfectly balanced by tannins that echo finishing flavours of raspberries and black pepper. This wine will continue to develop with a further 3-5 years of cellaring.
This fine handcrafted wine reflects Yalumba's dedication to creating wines with regional character, varietal flavour and individual personality.

Sweet, dry, blueberry finish and that smokey flavor 's there too. Really tasty especially after a long day with youngsters. Enjoyed it much more than the Liberty School cabernet just before it . . .
