Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Cabernet Sauvignon
from Margaret River, Australia
winemaker's notes:
Colour: Deep red with garnet hues
Bouquet: Ripe fruits of the forest, boysenberries and cassis integrated with dark chocolate, cinnamon and spice
Palate: Full-bodied yet refined, the plush palate offers ripe, jubey fruits such as blackcurrants, plums and mulberries framed by subtle cedar/spicy oak characters. This dense wine is well structured, layered with dark fleshy fruit characteristics, ripe tannins and a lingering finish
Cellaring Potential: Vibrant and robust in its youth, this is a wine which will certainly benefit from further bottle maturation, and will cellar comfortably for 5-10 years
critical acclaim:
"Ripe and spicy, with an exotic character reminiscent of chai tea most prominent, with the ripe currant and dark plum flavors lurking right behind. Needs time to sort itself out. Best from 2012 through 2018. 600 cases imported."

"Dense ruby. Black and blue fruits on the aromatic nose, with complicating notes of licorice, vanilla and pipe tobacco. Fleshy and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering sappy dark fruit flavors and hints of mocha and bitter chocolate. The vanilla and spice notes carry through a long, sweet, gently tannic finish. This is delicious now but has the depth to age.
