Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Fruit for this wonderfully aromatic unoaked chardonnay was sourced from growers vineyards located to the north and south of the town of Margaret River. Hints of peach, stone fruit, pear and melon waft from the glass. What it promises on the nose is delivered on the palate. Fresh, vibrant and lush fruit characters make this crisp chardonnay a delight to drink. The finish is long and lively. Enjoy as an aperitif or match up with fresh salads and seafood.

Critical Acclaim

"Bright and tangy, with a lemony edge to the green apple flavors, hinting at star fruit as the finish lingers. Drink now. 9,800 cases imported."
88 Points

"Pale yellow. Pungent aromas of peach and melon are underscored by a note of lemon zest. Light in body but fleshy, with deep pit fruit and melon flavors and a late kick of tarragon. The finish repeats the lemon zest note and is refreshingly tight and brisk. "

I've ordered unoaked chardonnay from the Mad Fish label and it was lovely so I figured all unoaked chardonnay were created equal. Not so much. It was basically undrinkable.
