This wine is a classic "cool climate" Chardonnay - sourced primarily from our Carneros vineyard and the mountain vineyards of Atlas Peak. These cooler climate grapes retain a firm acid structure as they ripen, allowing for full malolactic fermentation while keeping a crisp, fruit-forward structure in the wine.
This Chardonnay is gently oak-aged and left on the lees, allowing the fruit to shine. Intense tropical fruit and buttery pear aromas overlay a smooth, creamy texture and a mouthful of bright citrus, Meyer lemon and mango. Medium-bodied, the wine is tantalizing on the palate with a crisp, clean finish.
Because of its crisp character, the Napa Valley Chardonnay is a particularly good food wine, especially when paired with seafood or lighter style cream-sauced pasta dishes.
