Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Pinot Noir 2000
Pinot Noir
from Willamette Valley, Oregon
winemaker's notes:
Medium to full bodied, medium-to-dark ruby color, a liquid fruit salad in a glass... fruity cherry, strawberry aromas, juicy soft and warm mouthfeel. Our founder, Jim Bernau calls it "Pinot noir candy".
Wonderful by itself or with cheeses, pasta dishes with sun dried tomatoes, grilled fish, squab and lighter fowl. Serve at room temperature or moderately chilled on warmer days.

This wine is excellent: the bouquet is almost abruptly powerful and hints strongly of the well-matched fruits to come. It has such boldness of fruit (raspberry, blackberry), yet with enough tannins (some disagree) to give it a sturdy mouthfeel. I love this wine! I can't believe they have kept the price so reasonable. Even when we splurge on an expensive pinot, we rarely find one that we enjoy more than this one.

This is my FAVORITE Pinot Noir. It is aged in a steel vat as per a oak barrel. The grapes are fermented WHOLE then broken down. It has a light banana smell. Full of flavor and body. A Reccommend.
