Wildberry Estate Shiraz 2005
Syrah/Shiraz from Margaret River, Australia
Distinctively deep red in color, this wine provides aromas of cooked berry fruits, plums, and the white pepper that Margaret River is renowned for. The palate is rich, smooth and complimented by the underlying tones of spice and toasty oak. This is an elegant but full flavoured shiraz that is drinking well today and will continue to develop for the next 2–5 years.
Australian Wine Companion - "A solid wine with lots of extract and richness to the array of spicy black fruits."
Wildberry Estate Winery
The Wildberry Estate winery was established by growers passionate about producing great wine using traditional practices, the best technology, and of course superb fruit.
Being only a few miles inland from the Indian Ocean, and with Geographe Bay just to our North East we are surrounded by water. This has a maritime affect on our climatic conditions which in turn has a stabilizing effect on our grapes as they grow and ripen.
Winemaking is all about the quality of the fruit. Margaret River has been scientifically identified as the most perfect place on earth, to grow premium grapes. Margaret River is blessed with generous winter rains and gravely soils with the benefit of cool ocean breezes guarded by tall karri, jarrah and peppermint forests.
We have created an outstanding range of wines showing intensity and freshness, embracing the best of Margaret River. View all Wildberry Estate Wines

About AustraliaLike the United States, which is about the same size, Australia's winemaking regions are huddled into one or two pockets of the country. The state of South Australia, which produces about 60% of the country's wine, also has the most wineries and sub-regions, including McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Coonawarra and Barossa Valley. New South Wales is home to the Hunter Valley, while the smaller, southern state of Victoria is best known for theYarra Valley. Head way west to the very large state of Western Australia and you'll find the tiny region of Margaret River at the southern tip.

36/22/2011Mary R - Huntersville, NC512/15/2010Fruity easy-drinking wine of good character. What a deal! Favorite.Cam Fortin - San Francisco, CA43/23/2011412/17/2010I bought about four of the bottles and I was pleased with the Shiraz. Although I usually love Barossa and McClaren Vale wine, this was a pleasant and smooth Shiraz. High in alcohol and taste -- just the way I like it!
- Earthy & Spicy
Alcohol By Volume GuideMost wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
