Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Color: Deep brick red.

Nose: Berry characters and white pepper abound on the nose with subtle hints of oak.

Palate: The medium bodied palate is soft and luscious. Berry flavors are nicely integrated with spicy white pepper through the mid-palate. Some oak is evident on the finish as is fragrant mixed spice.

Aging: 5-7 years recommended.

Critical Acclaim

"Lifted and highly perfumed, displaying savoury characters; medium-bodied, with real brightness on the finish. Screwcap."
