Waterbrook Winery Melange 2009
Red Wine
from Columbia Valley, Washington
winemaker's notes:
Deep garnet color leads to inviting aromatics of blueberry, currant and cedar. Big, rich, ripe fruit develops throughout the palate. Structured tannins and balanced acidity supports lingering fruit on the well-rounded finish.
Blend: 20% Syrah, 19% Sangiovese, 12% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 7% Tempranillo, 7% Grenache, 3% Counnois, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Mourvedre, 2% Cinsault, 2% Carmenere, 2% Various Lots
critical acclaim:
"This fruity red blend offers a nice mix of plum, black cherry, and cocoa powder scents and flavors. It develops into a darker wine, with cassis and cacao running through the finish."

Wine Enthusiast
"This blend, mostly cabernet, merlot and syrah, leads with fresh aromas of red cherry; its flavors are more in the syrah camp, with a hint of olive. A succulent, honest red, and a steal at the price. For summer barbecues."
