The 2006 Memsie red has a dark cherry/purple color. There are obvious blackcurrant, plum and spice characters dominating the nose. The palate is fresh with voluminous and forward, spice, berry and plum flavors obvious. These flavors are complimented by hints of sweet oak. The wine has great length with a persistent, smooth and clean finish.

The aromatics are unusually expressive for a wine in this price category. Aromas of cinnamon, allspice, plum, blueberry and black currant lead to a medium to full-bodied wine with a plush texture, ripe sweet fruit, and a sense of elegance. This tasty wine will provide pleasure over the next 4-6 years. "
