winemaker's notes:

An outstanding wine that epitomizes everything that is great about a superbly balanced Twenty Year Old Tawny; the translucent copper colored tone of the wine is matched by the beautiful soft nutty aromas gained by a full twenty years ageing in seasoned oak casks. Otima 20 Years is rich and delicate, but never cloying; the tannins and acidity ensure balance and perfect length.

critical acclaim:

"Fresh, with plenty of vibrant acidity behind the cocoa, vanilla and dried apricot flavors. Spicy and creamy notes linger on the long, broad finish. Drink now"

Wine Spectator

"Warre's seems to have found just the right formula for its tawnys. The 10-Year Old Otima is a fine wine, and so is this Otima 20. It has aromas of almonds, layers of acidity and sweetness, the flavor of bitter oranges, and a round, ripe aftertaste."

After trying the 10 year I decided to treat myself and spend the extra $10 for the 20 year. It's much smoother and now I find I won't go back to the 10. The 500ML bottle is nice too because I can finish the bottle and still function the next day.
