I have visited Portugal many times and have tried MANY kinds of port from all different years. This is the one that I choose as my "regularly consumed port." It has a great flavor without any of the harsh aftertastes of the newer less expensive ports. It also ages quite well and brings out a more robust flavor after 2-3 years.

I discovered this while living in England where it was the perfect compliment to a robust Cuban cigar. Upon returning home to the States I was pleased to find it readily available, and the price tag is more than reasonable. It is a light-bodied port that maintains a rich flavor full of interesting fruit and a warm vanilla background. Really wonderful stuff.

Warres NV Otima Tawny has become my favorite port. Unlike others, it is not powering or syruppy. It is perfect with a nice blue cheese or a good cigar.
