Vieux Mas des Papes Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2000

This is the second label of legendary Rhone producer Vieux Telegraphe made from slightly younger vines.

Moderate color intensity with an orange/purple rim. Complex funky nose - truffles nutmeg, orange and citrus blossom, spicy and herbal. Good depth of rhubarb/rum fruit on the palate at first. The wine has enough fruit weight to support further bottle development facilitating softening of the tannin and improved integration.
