Ruby purple color with ripe red cherry
aromas and vanilla. With hints of violets the Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne is slightly rounder in structure than the Barbera d'Asti. On the palate it shows bright acidity, soft tannins with good integration of oak, good complexity and a lingering cherry finish.
Antipasti, rich salads, grilled seasoned
vegetables, hearty soups/stews, pastas or with breaded veal, pork, chicken with light sauces.
"A broad style, evoking plum, cherry, chocolate and vanilla aromas and flavors. Concentrated, it will appeal to fans of ripe fruit and power. Drink now through 2014. "
"The 2008 Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne is soft and supple in this vintage. Red berries, flowers and spices come together in the glass. This, too, is a fairly approachable Barbera best suited to near-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012.
