If every bottle of sub-$50 Barbera tasted like this one, I'd have a lot more Italians in my 'go to' stash. This is one of Vietti's lowest priced offerings, but they do not spare any quality, as this is one of the most delivering quality to price point 2004 Italian's I have tasted thus far. Gambero Rosso backs up my sentiment... so, if you're wondering at all, just buy it!

This is a nice food friendly wine. I had it with my dinner and it seemed to make the food taste better. It's round and soft but has balanced acidity that cleans up the palate nice. What can I say, pizza, a tomato-based pasta, steak or whatever, food just tastes better with this Barbera.

This wine was recommended by Becco restaurant on 46th street NYC it is a surprisingly fantastic smooth red that I will certainly purchase again
