Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
A touch herbal and ashy, with tight blackcurrant fruit and a little hint of cherry and herbs. A little less plush and rounded than the straight Carmenère, with a slightly lean character. The sweetness is good, and this does have a raciness and richness. Very drinkable.
"Saturated red. Intensely perfumed bouquet offers scents of black raspberry, cassis, licorice and potpourri. Silky dark berry flavors displays liqueur-like depth and are enlivened by juicy acidity. A smoky quality gains strength with air and carries into the finish, which is spicy, focused and very long. Very interesting wine that shows its carmenere component up front but closes with cabernet character"
