winemaker's notes:
"Reveals a southern Rhone-like character in its kirsh liqueur, licorice, and pepper-scented bouquet. Medium-bodied with impressive fruit, tremendous freshness, and lively acidity, this is a tasty Spanish red to drink now and over the next 3-4 years... terrific bargains."

100% old vine Garnacha, estate bottled. This is a wine made from old vines between 60 to over 100 years old found in 40 separate parcels that surround the town of Anorbe. These parcels are located in what the loacals call chaparral, an area of high bushes made up of a type of Spanish oak tree. Yielding only 1.25 tons/acre, this vines are from small plots that were abandoneed by the old winegrowers because of their low yields. The closest Garnacha vineyards in Spain to the Atlantic Ocean.

This wine is perfect with spicy foods. I had it with some great Creole food. The wine has a very distinct hint of pepper.

Wow - terrific! I'm loving these deals in Spanish wines. Try and find a Cab or Merlot that offers up so much wine for so little $ - you won't be able too.
