Winemaker's Notes

Yellow-gold. Leesy lemon, quince and pear aromas are brightened by dusty minerality and white flowers. Broad and smoky on the palate, offering sweet orchard fruit and fresh butter qualities along with anise and baking spices. Becomes nervier on the long, sappy finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale straw. Focused, highly perfumed aromas of lime, grapefruit and minerals, plus a touch of white pepper. Racy, sharply delineated and pure, offering tangy, spice-accented citrus and green apple flavors and a note of bitter orange pith. The finish is nervy, penetrating and very persistent. This youthful, tightly wound wine will be even better with a bit more bottle age."

Not as much body as the review states but still a nice touch of fruit and smooth, subtle oak finish. Decent wine for the price.

The most popular red varieties of Spain include Tempranillo and Garnacha (Grenache). Whites don't garner quite as much recognition, but there are some regional varieties not to be missed, like Albarino...
