Alión is a solid wine, and is the height of expression of the tinto fino grape ripened in the sun and intelligently made into wine. Its colour is concentrated, dark with a luminous and seductive edge, typical of its youth and seasoned by the wood. The aroma is unveiled with an intensity that is not very frequent in the wines from the Ribera del Duero designation of origin. It appears with hints of roast from the grape and top-quality wood. On the palate, the sweetened tannins of the concentrated black fruits blend with the dry creamy tannins of the French oak. It is full of flavor, strong, fleshy and unfolds a truly suggestive range of tastes.
"The 2007 Alion continues the winery’s string of outstanding vintages. It is 100% Tempranillo with malolactic fermentation in barrel followed by aging in new French oak. It offers up an exceptionally fragrant and complex bouquet of wood smoke, pencil lead, exotic spices, incense, lavender, and blackberry. On the palate it displays impressive volume, a smooth texture, layered flavors, and a lengthy, seamless finish. This impressive effort will continue to blossom for several more years and provide much pleasure through 2027. "

"Vivid ruby. Exotically perfumed bouquet displays dried cherry, cassis, pipe tobacco and floral scents; smells like a sexy Bordeaux. Lush, smoky red and dark berry flavors are deep and sweet, with silky tannins adding structure. Gains spiciness with air, with the tannins building slowly on the long, sappy finish. This really deserves at least another few years of bottle age. "
