Unico Luis Miguel Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile, South America
winemaker's notes:
The creation of Único Luis Miguel wine is a passionate departure for the multi Grammy winner, who has more than 35 platinum records and a career total of more than 52 million records sold. A long-time wine collector and connoisseur, Luis Miguel worked side-by-side with Aurelio Montes Del Campo, winemaker for Chile's Viña Ventisquero, to hand select the grapes and craft the complex, seductive, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Único Luis Miguel is produced from grapes grown in the Maipo Valley, one of Chile's most renowned regions for producing high quality, elegant and complex Cabernet Sauvignons.
"I've always admired and respected the artistry and passion that goes into crafting a great wine," said Luis Miguel. "When I set out to create ÚNICO Luis Miguel, it was important to me to find a partner that shared my vision.
Viña Ventisquero is the perfect choice because of its progressive approach to winemaking and extraordinary vineyards. It has been great working alongside such a well respected winemaker as Aurelio and I'm excited about the tremendous wine that we've created."
Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah
An intense cherry-red in color with hints of blue; complex aromas of ripe raspberries and black currant are uniquely complemented by black pepper spices, cedar and tobacco notes. Expressive and full on the palate with a balanced body and distinctively ripe, round tannins that linger on the long, chocolate finish.

Excelente vino, de gran sabor y cuerpo. Realmente lo recomiendo.
Big & Bold
This wine has an amazing bold cherry flavor. After the initial pour I was intrigued by the intense fragrance…the taste is like velvet on your lips... this wine doesn’t disappoint!
there is a good gift without waste your money in high price wines!!!!
The best red wine I have had is Opus One by Robert Mondavi. It had the best smoothness and finish of any red wine I had pleasure tasting up until now. I was also a big Shafer fan..but the cost of those wines is somewhat cost prohibitive for most people. I finally found another red wine I am thrilled about. I don't know what it is, the process, the valley where they grow the grapes.. but I can honestly say that I really enjoyed this wine and this is one by my favorite red wines of all time already. Price and Taste beats all reds in this category. Luis Miguel has out done himself with his first wine, as he does with his Music. Take a listen http://www.LuisMiguel.net
This is a spectacular wine. My favorite cab on the market. The first time I had it was at a bistro in Manhattan Beach, CA. We had sent back a bottle and they brought us Unico. I didn't pay much attention to the bottle, as I was deep in conversation with a friend. At one point, however, I realized how good this wine was and picked up the bottle to take a look. When I saw "Unico" and then Luis Miguel, it all came together for me. Luis Miguel is probably the most popular mexican singer of the last 20 years. He's iconic (and gorgeous). He started in the wine business several years ago. I remember seeing the news clip on Univision news. But since then, had forgotten about his vineyard. So, basically, I came upon Unico by accident but am go glad I did. Now I can listen to Luis Miguel music AND drink his wine. The only problem is that it's so good I save it for special times. Maybe I just need to buy more. :)
I hope my box was in the sun for a long time or something. The smell was horrible coming out of the 1st bottle, I poured it out and opened a second, same smell. I went ahead and decanted the bottle thinking it might just be me. Nope. My bottle tasted as bad as it smelled. Tasted like $6 wine from 1982, absolutely awful. I would not try this wine again.
so much about award-winning; it has very strong test, and horrible smell. Be careful, its not good!!
I love the smell, very aromatic and it feels great when I breathe in the alcohol essence. It tastes smooth as well. THe color is beautiful. This wine has characters. Actually my girl friend brought a bottle to try this 2007 award-winning wine. I like it instantly, which is rare for me. Then I came to Wine, com to purchase more. Highly recommend it.
This wine has become one that I use for special ocasion only, is that good, when I open a bottle everyone knows is for special celebration
nice wine for the price. Well made. But I must say my first bottle had a distinct nose of oil. Motor oil. Try it and let me know if you get that. Once it opened up it was a nice bottle and I would buy it again. Good value.
Absolutely smooth taste...no bitterness or slight harshness with the first drink...smooth as silk and velvet combined--great by itself...this wine is a winner.
