Tyrrell's Old Winery Pinot Noir 2000

This predominantly Hunter Valley blend of Pinot Noir displaysexcellent 'terroir' and varietal expression. The colour is quite deep and has a glossy violet rim. Earth and a sweet berry lift is apparent on the nose along with subtle clean mushroom characters, indicative of this variety. Generous fruit weight on the palate is complemented by a good balance between subtle oak flavours and soft tannin structure.

A very easy-drinking wine which is versatile and well suited to a wide range of foods. A good match with most white meats such as pork and chicken. A glass or two would also go nicely with linguini with blue cheese sauce & basil leaves.
