Two Hands Sophie's Garden Shiraz 2001
Syrah/Shiraz
from South Australia, Australia
winemaker's notes:
Extremely limited. A Brilliant rhubarb red in colour with a purple flint. The bouquet displays intense mint, aniseed, menthol, dusty cherries, raspberries and subtle liquorice and freshly cracked pepper. The palate is rich, focused and tight, loaded with bright acid that drives the fruit to the middle palate, where the fruit is backed by powerful and flavoursome tannins.
This is easily the tightest of the Two Hands 'Garden Series' and will reward mid to long term cellaring and will take 2-3 years to show it's best. My Favourite aspect of the wine is that it shows little new oak influence and tastes of lush and pure fruit.
