Approaching 70 years in age, Dogtown has really hit its stride. In tandem with the Lodi appellation enjoying a rebirth in quality, the last several vintages of Dogtown have been developing wonderfully. We have witnessed a metamorphosis in flavor which now demonstrates red, blue, purple and dark fruit flavors with a hint of anise. The lighter color leads the imbiber to think the wine will be vin ordinare; but, quite to the contrary, the '09 Dogtown is complex, interesting and immensely satisfying.
