Winemaker's Notes

Tropical fruit nose with nuances of stone fruit, fig and melon. The palate is rich and full bodied. Chardonnay fruit characters dominate and are supported by creamy, buttery texture due to 20% MLF and 100% "sur lees" maturation with regular battonage. In 2008, several new clones have been incorporated from some young growers with a refreshing approach to growing premium Chardonnay.

Critical Acclaim

"The gold-colored 2008 Virgin Chardonnay offers up a fragrant perfume of pear, spiced apple, and tropical fruit aromas. Vibrant, balanced, and lengthy on the palate, it will drink well for another 2 years. "
