Alcohol By Volume: 11.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This wine takes its name from the emerald color of the Mediterranean and is made from the varieties Mosacatel de Alejandría and Gewürztraminer grapes. Orange blossom and tangerine aromas and flavors mix with a hint of spice and vanilla in this juicy white. Lightly bitter note on the finish, this wine is sublime with seafood cocktails, fish and pates.

Blend: 85% Moscatel and 15% Gewürztraminer

Critical Acclaim

"Bright straw. Aromas of fresh melon, peach and exotic tropical fruits. Light-bodied and intensely fruity, with open-knit passion fruit and honeydew flavors that show a slightly warm quality. Finishes smooth, sweet and clingy. This wine clocks in at 11.5% alcohol and would be a great call for spicy Asian salads or fish courses."
