I'm not a fan of Pinot Blanc (or pinot bianco), it tends to be uninteresting, flabby and...well, not worth it. But this is a key wine from the Alto-Adige region, showing off the beautiful whites that are produced there--and why that region may be the best white wine region in the world (debatable, obviously). Beautiful nose full of fruits (peaches and apricots mostly) and a powerful palate for a white wine--smooth, creamy and full. Love it. If you're wondering what to pair it with--go traditional with cured meats from the region and reach, Austrian influenced stews--or think of it as you would a Chardonnay (pork, chicken, fatty fishes).
