Winemaker's Notes

The wine made by Ben Riggs and his winemaking team, this wine has a long, soft and juicy palate and lush mouthfeel, bursting with blackberry, blueberry jam and liquorice. This wine guarantees a true Australian Shiraz experience best enjoyed over the next 7 years.

Critical Acclaim

"Deep crimson, red hue; the bouquet offers a blend of red and black fruits, with an attractive floral lift of violets; the uncomplicated palate is lively and fresh, juicy and fragrant, packing plenty of punch into a compact finish; excellent value for the price."

The wine caught my eye in Wine Spectator's last issue because this was my father's name. WS rated it a 90. I believe that was a very generous and overreaching score. I was actually trying to aquire the Cabernet, but it was out of stock. Would not buy the Shiraz again. Perhaps it needed some aging, but I found it a little harsh and loaded with tannins.
