Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

An expression of charm and seduction, the Thiénot Brut Rose Champagne is a subtle blend of three Champagne grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Its beautiful pink color evokes the delicate flavor of summer raspberries. The palate is seduced by the Champagne's finesse and the nose discovers tangy notes of morello cherry and blackcurrant. The wine caresses and kisses the mouth with delicacy and lightness. A perfect balance between subtlety and body.

Serve as an aperitif with fine tapas, small sweet tomatoes and stuffed artichokes or enjoy with light desserts like strawberry or mixed fruit cocktails.

Critical Acclaim

"Creamy and well-balanced, this accessible version features citrusy acidity backing open-knit flavors of crème de cassis, gumdrop, dried apricot, almond skin and pastry, with a mineral-tinged finish."

Today, nearly 75% of Champagne...

Pink Bubbles Some Champagne and sparkling wine is pink. It's more rare, and more robust, and sometimes more expensive. But it's one of those wines that is just deliciously appealing. The pink color in a rose sparkler comes from the skins - which means that the wine must include at least one of the red grapes of the traditional method - Pinot Noir or Pinot...
