winemaker's notes:
"The most expensive offering in this portfolio is the 1999 Ceppate, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Chianti Classico region, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon along with 25% Merlot from the coastal Maremma region. It was aged for 12 months in French and American oak. An opaque ruby/purple color accompanies intense, sweet aromas of graphite, damp earth, and minty black currants, medium to full body, a sweet palate, and a dense, concentrated, tannic finish. It will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring, and should last for 10-15."

"Super wine. Subtle aromas of licorice, blackberries, cherries and minerals. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long, long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best after 2004."
